Recruitment Consultant – General Counsel & In-House Legal

The Role
We're looking for an ambitious Recruitment Consultant to join our growing team and focus on placing General Counsel and senior in-house legal professionals with large corporates and international organisations based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value, strategic placements within the legal sector, advising clients on their most critical leadership appointments.
Whether you specialise in interim or permanent placements, you'll be working with decision-makers at the highest level, building long-term partnerships and becoming a trusted advisor in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with General Counsel, Heads of Legal, and senior hiring managers at major corporations and international businesses in London
- Source, assess, and present exceptional legal professionals for in-house counsel positions
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from initial client brief through to successful placement and beyond
- Proactively business develop to win new exclusive mandates and expand our client base
- Build a network of high-calibre legal professionals across the in-house market
- Provide expert market insight and consultative advice to clients on hiring strategies, compensation trends, and talent availability
- Maintain accurate records and manage your pipeline using our advanced recruitment technology platform
About You
We're looking for driven, commercially-minded individuals who thrive in a mature environment and are passionate about building lasting relationships. You don't need to come from legal recruitment specifically, but you should bring:
Essential:
- Proven experience in recruitment or business development within professional services (legal, Insurance, accountancy, consulting, financial services, or similar sectors)
- A track record of winning new business and delivering results
- Experience managing either interim or permanent placements (or both)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial acumen and the ability to understand complex business needs
- Resilience, determination, and a genuine passion for recruitment
- The ability to work independently while contributing to team success
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the legal sector or in-house legal market (not essential)
- Existing network within the London professional services community
- Experience working on exclusive or retained mandates
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn about the sector
