The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join one of London's most established recruitment agencies, working alongside a market-leading consultant with over 20 years of deep, specialist expertise in the in-house tax recruitment space. You won't be starting from scratch — you'll be stepping into a well-developed market position, with long-standing client relationships, a strong reputation and genuine brand recognition across Corporate & International Tax, Indirect Tax, Employment Tax, Global Mobility and Transfer Pricing.

The agency works on both a contingent and retained basis, placing permanent and interim tax professionals into in-house roles across Commerce & Industry and Financial Services. Their clients range from FTSE-listed corporates and global financial institutions to boutique firms and specialist industry players — and many of those relationships have been nurtured for over two decades.

The Role

You'll be working on the Tax desk, focusing specifically on senior-level appointments. Think Heads of Tax, Tax Directors and Senior Managers across International Tax, Tax Reporting, Tax Compliance, Indirect Tax and Transfer Pricing. Your key contacts will be CFOs, Heads of Tax and HR/Talent Partners — decision-makers who value expertise, market insight and trusted advice above all else.

Beyond straightforward search and selection, you'll have the opportunity to add real value to clients through tax team structure guidance, market commentary and salary benchmarking — the kind of consultative work that sets this desk apart from transactional recruitment.

What We're Looking For

We need someone who has been around the block. You'll already understand the in-house tax market, know how to build and sustain senior-level relationships, and be comfortable operating in a space where patience, credibility and persistence matter as much as pace.

Specifically, you'll bring solid experience in recruitment, ideally with exposure to tax, finance or professional services, a track record of placing mid-to-senior level professionals, the confidence to engage at C-suite and Board level, and a tenacious, can-do attitude — someone who doesn't wait for business to come to them.

You'll thrive in a collaborative environment while being self-motivated enough to manage your own desk, and you'll genuinely enjoy becoming a true specialist rather than a generalist.
