Recruitment Consultant – IT Contractor Desk (Business Transformation & Tech Change – Insurance & Financial Services)
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home) Salary: Competitive base + uncapped commission (DOE)

The Role
We're looking for a Recruitment Consultant with a minimum of 12 months' experience working within an external recruitment agency to join a high-performing, close-knit team. You'll take ownership of your own IT contractor desk, working across the full recruitment lifecycle from business development through to contractor placement and ongoing account management.
This desk is focused on placing IT contractors into business transformation and tech change roles within the insurance and financial services sector. Experience recruiting contractors within Data & Analytics is highly desirable, but candidates with a strong track record placing IT contractors across other transformation-related disciplines (e.g. Change Management, Programme/Project Delivery, Business Analysis, Digital Transformation) will also be seriously considered.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proactively identifying and winning new business, building a pipeline of client relationships within insurance and financial services from scratch
- Managing the end-to-end contractor recruitment process, from briefing through to placement and beyond
- Sourcing, screening and managing a network of IT contractors operating within business transformation and tech change
- Negotiating terms of business, contract rates and managing ongoing client accounts
- Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of contractors for repeat business and future roles
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to share market insight, leads and referrals
- Contributing to a positive, high-energy team culture where wins are celebrated together
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 12 months' experience working in an external/agency recruitment environment (essential — internal/in-house recruitment experience alone won't meet this requirement)
- Experience recruiting IT contractors, ideally within business transformation or tech change
- Exposure to the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable
- A genuine track record of business development and new client acquisition
- A consultative, relationship-focused approach to both clients and contractors
- Resilience, drive and a genuine appetite for hitting and exceeding targets
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, sociable environment
